Every RightClaw plan includes daily automated backups and managed updates as part of the service. This article explains what is protected and how to request a restore if you need one.

Daily Automated Backups

Backups run automatically every day on all RightClaw plans at no additional cost. No configuration is required on your part.

What Is Backed Up

Each daily backup captures your VM state (full virtual machine configuration), configuration files (settings, preferences, integrations), data (workspace files, skill configs, agent state), and SSH authorized keys.

Backup Retention

Backups are retained on a rolling basis. Older backups are automatically rotated out as new ones are created. This ensures you always have a recent recovery point available without consuming excessive storage.

Managed Updates and Security Patches

Right Servers handles all system-level updates for your RightClaw VM:

  • Operating system security patches applied promptly as they are released
  • RightClaw platform updates deployed during your preferred maintenance window
  • Skill and plugin compatibility verified before updates are applied
  • Zero-downtime updates wherever possible, with VM reboots scheduled to minimize disruption

You can set your preferred update window in the RightClaw dashboard under Settings → Preferences.

Uptime SLA

All RightClaw plans include a 99.9% uptime SLA. This means your service is guaranteed to be available at least 99.9% of the time each month. If we fail to meet this target, contact support to discuss service credits.

Requesting a Restore

If you need to restore your VM from a backup, contact support@rightservers.com with the following information:

  • Your account email and service name
  • The approximate date and time of the backup you want restored
  • A brief description of what occurred (e.g., accidental deletion, configuration error)

Our support team will initiate the restore process. Most restores complete within a few hours, depending on the size of the VM and backup data.

Best Practices

  • Set your preferred update window to a low-traffic time to minimize any disruption from managed updates
  • Keep track of major configuration changes so you can identify which backup point to restore from if needed
  • While daily backups are comprehensive, export critical workspace files periodically for an extra layer of safety
